Registration numbers were so low for this event that it became obvious that it needed to be rescheduled. We have officially postponed the BAR until a later date, in 2011. Hopefully we'll have a new date selected soon. Early thoughts are that we'll aim for a spring date. Visit the race website for more details. Looking for a way to use all of your outdoor skills, be part of a team, exercise your body and your mind, and have lots of fun at the same time? Try Adventure Racing!
Although the "adventure" part of AR means you may find just about any activity in an adventure race, you'll usually find mountain biking, trekking and/or running, paddling or swimming, and navigation. Some race directors also throw in special team challenges, like climbing a rope ladder, solving puzzles, or throwing a tomahawk. The best part of AR is that you share all of the fun, challenges, and rewards with your teammates!
Bushwhack Adventures' sponsor DTC Publishing is offering custom UTM tool / business cards for adventure race promoters.
Not only do we put on adventure races for everyone to enjoy, we also enjoy adventure racing ourselves! Visit our blog and our Team profile on the Checkpoint Tracker website.
Check out this Meetup group website for the RDU chapter of TBARC for local outings and activities related to adventure racing. Their online calendar features a range of activities from simple rides and runs to mock adventure races. You can also check out pictures from past activities, participate in discussion board topics, and more!

The TBARC event calendar includes races from the Southeast. The club is centered in GA but coverage extends to SC, NC, FL, and points beyond. Many of these races are feasible for a weekend trip from the Triangle.
